Ok, when my husband and I decided to move to Texas, we knew we’d come across many weird bugs, insects, animals, etc. When I come across these unidentifiable non-California bugs/insects, I post them on my Instagram Stories and I readily receive responses to what they are. Thanks for that!

We’ve come across stick bugs, stink bugs, cicadas, praying mantis, locust, earwigs, and ginormous ants, just to name a few. Now, I’m not one to run from a snake with my arms flailing around everywhere but I also know my limits.

The worst of the worst are the humongous cockroaches. Seriously, wtf? I thought the ones in California were big. But the ones here are like three times the size. They give me the heebeegeebees.

It’s been about 20 days since we’ve moved here to Texas. And aside from all the insects and bugs, I’ve also seen a fox and many deer. I’d really like to see an alligator, armadillo, or porcupine next. Gotta love the wildlife.

With all the insect/bug/animal talk, it seemed fitting for me to create an animal print layout for the week. Check it out!

Supplies

Notebook
Stencil
Inks (1, 2)
Blending Foam and Tool
Brush Pens (452 and 493)
White Pen
Adhesive
Days of the Week Stamps
Acrylic Block

Step One

I started off this layout by placing 4 rectangular pieces of paper on both sides of the notebook. I used this removable adhesive to keep each rectangle in place.

Step Two

Then, I placed my leopard stencil from Stencil1 right on top of the page. With the Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and Blending Foam and Tool, I colored over the stencil. I also added some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink to random parts of the stencil just to add another shade of blue.

Step Three

After removing the pink and purple rectangular pieces of paper, I lettered the month with a blue brush pen (452) and added some small details with the pointed side of this pen (493) and a white gel pen.

Step Four

Last, I placed these days of the week stamps onto my acrylic block and stamped each one into the rectangles. These stamps are perfect for journaling and are from The Sassy Club.
