I’m one of those people who celebrates Cinco’s adoption day and birthday. Cinco, who is Cinco? Thanks for asking. Let me describe Cinco in the best way possible.

Cinco is an eight-year-old applehead chihuahua. He’s 5 pounds and stands about nine inches tall. Cinco is a major cuddler and loves long walks on all sorts of terrains. He suffers from little dog syndrome and loves barking at horses, goats, and other dogs. Cinco enjoys chasing lizards and loves eating cheese and cat food. His tongue is always sticking out and he’s a bit of a snorer. He hates baths, loves long walks, and prefers warm weather over cold. Cinco is skilled in the tricks department including – playing dead, rolling over, barking on command, crawling, and shaking hands. Although he be little he is fierce.

After reading that, it sounds like I created a want ad for my dog!!

In other news, Cinco allows me to dress him up. Yep, I’m one of those people who dresses her dog for Halloween. And Christmas. And 4th of July. And Easter. And New Years (he rings in the new year wearing a black bow tie).

So, this year for Cinco’s adoption day anniversary gift I bought a dog puzzle toy. He has to use some brain power to retrieve the dog treats.

But I couldn’t be boring with his gift and give it to him unwrapped. I full on had to decorate it. I’m lead to believe he appreciates my creative nature, right?  Check it out.

Supplies

Step One

I placed various dog stamps onto an acrylic block, placed some ink on the stamp, and started stamping all over the kraft wrapping paper. Now, I’m typically not one to have pre-decorated wrapping paper, but I always have kraft. And let me just say, all sorts of stamps look great on kraft paper!

Step Two

After the paper was stamped, I wrapped Cinco’s gift. Instead of using standard tape, I went the extra mile and used double stick adhesive. I like when the tape lines can’t be seen.

Step Three

Instead of ribbon, I wrapped some twine around the gift, it’s all about the texture.

Step Four

I lettered Cinco’s name on a gift tag with a dual brush pen and used the same adhesive to stick it onto the gift.
