It’s official. I met my goal. So far I’ve gone 37 days without buying any arts and craft supplies. Zero. Zilch.

Toward the end of March I realized I was running out of space in my office. Drawers were overflowing and my closet doors had to come off, it was like a dam waiting to burst. It needed to start organizing my stuff. Stamps in one area, die-cuts in another, papers over here, paints over there. It was an absolute mess. Then, it got worse. I found craft supplies that were unopened and still in bags.

It was right then and there that I decided to put myself on art and craft supply restriction. No more buying! I went cold turkey. The first 10 days were the toughest. Especially when the grocery store is few doors down from Hobby Lobby and Michael’s is less than a mile further.

Since I refrained from craft supply shopping, I started a new blog series called Wishlist Wednesday. Over the last several weeks, I’ve been sharing all sorts of supplies I’ve been wanting, but have not purchased. Not yet at least. I wonder if I could go another 30 days without buying?

Anyway, for the past couple months I’ve been really into creating with dots and circles, so it’s no surprise this layout contains just that. Check it out.

Supplies

Step One

For this layout I wanted to layer circles. After creating one circle with my stencil and drawing pen, I branched several other circles of various sizes to that one. I continued this process until both sides of the page was filled.

Step Two

Sometimes when I want to relax I color. So, I took out my colored pencils and colored in the circles. I love how the neon green accentuates the blue, grey, and black. Also, I need to mention how awesome these pencils are. The perfectly centered lead is break resistant, even while sharpening.

Step Three

With my ruler and drawing pen I created the sections for the weekly layout. Then, with my brush pen I lettered the month and added a bit of design with a white gel pen.

Step Four

Last, I stamped the days of the week with my alphabet stamps, stamp block, and this ink.
