The Nightmare Before Christmas was completely in mind when I created this layout (even though I’ve never seen the movie). It must be something with the dark background and all the curvyness.

The stamps in this layout are super cool and I have never used them. I’ve been sitting on them for at least a year and a half (seriously). I’m not even sure where or how I acquired them!?!?

Anyway, because I love this time of year, I’ve decided to continue my Halloween themed layouts for the entire month of October (see my October calendar here).

This one was definitely inspired by Tim Burton.

Details

This is the bullet journal I use.

I started this layout by making six 2.5″ circles with my circle punch (similar) and placing 3 of them on each side of the page.

Then, like I did on the October calendar post, I used my black distress ink, with this blending tool and sponge and
covered the page in a greyish/black color.

After removing the circles, I prepped the layout for heat embossing (see more about embossing here and my YouTube Tutorial here). To help keep stray embossing powders from unwanted areas, I rub this embossing powder bag on the entire page.

For the next part, I used my acrylic block, an ink medium (embossing powder sticks to the medium), and stamped these curvy stamps all around the page.

Then, I sprinkled embossing powders onto the various stamped images. These are the powders I used – purple, orange, and green, .

I removed the excess powder and heated/melted the powder with my heat gun (similar).

I hand-lettered October with an embossing pen and this silver embossing powder.

For the dates, I used my go-to white gel pen.

Last, I added the days of the week with these alphabet stamps from Momenta.
