Now that Fall has arrived, it’s time to start saving for Christmas.

Ok, I really started saving in August, but thought it was time to actually start documenting my results (and making it look cute).

I thought it’d be fun to make a Christmas-ee themed bullet journal layout, so I brought out my holiday bulb stamps.

Each bulb stamp would represent a predetermined dollar amount I needed to save. Once the amount is saved, I get to decorate the ornament.

If planned correctly, all the bulbs will be decorated (by December 10); meaning, it’s time to go shopping!!

Details

This is the bullet journal I use.

I started this layout by rubber stamping two different images in various areas of the journal. The large ornament ball is from Hobby Lobby (this stamp is similar) and the other stamp is from Michael’s (this stamp is similar). I used this black colored ink pad.

I brush lettered Christmas Savings with a green brush pen from Michael’s (this set is similar).

I also added a bit of details to the lettering with this white gel pen.

Then I added strings to the ornament, as if they were hanging. I used the black pen from this set and this ruler.

Once that was complete, I started decorating the Christmas bulbs. I colored some using various colors from this fineline pen set and this colored pencil set. I also decorated some bulbs using some washi tape I’ve collected over the years.

For the last part, I struggled with whether or not I should include any details. The layout looked so pretty without any more writing on it. But, in the end, I decided to write down how much a colored-in bulb was worth (or saved) and the date my goal must be achieved by. It helps put things into perspective for me.
