I went to Target the other day to buy a gift bag.  As I was perusing, I noticed the cutest gift bag ever.  Seriously.

Let me describe it.  It had black and white horizontal stripes on the upper part of the bag, gorgeous flowers on the bottom half, and let’s not forget about the gold trim on the bag handle and the tassel!

The gift bag and I have since parted ways, but, it inspired this week’s bullet journal layout.  Love how this turned out!!

———–

Currently, I’m using a Leuchtturn bullet journal for all my weekly layouts.

While making this layout, I decided to concentrate most on the flowers.  I have a good amount of floral rubber stamps to choose from, so I decided to use this set, this set, and this rose set, along with an acrylic block.  These are all layering stamps, and I’m a big fan.  But with this layout, I only layered the leaves.

Rather then invest in a bunch of ink pads, I like using my brush markers as a form of ink pad. I just color the stamp and then stamp as usual. Most of the markers I use are water based, so the stamps are super easy to clean.

These are the colors I used on the stamps. The greens for the leaves came from these sets, and the colors I used for the flowers came from this set.

For the next part of the layout, I used my ruler and black and gold pens.

I started by drawing out black horizontal lines, followed by gold vertical ones (don’t mind the inked up fingers).

Just as the gift bag had gold trim, for my “gold trim” I used a yellow brush marker dipped it in gold calligraphy ink, and hand lettered the word July.

Another close up. See the beautiful gold shimmer? (this pictures doesn’t do it justice)

For the last part of the layout I added the days of the week with this stamp and block. The typewriter font is one of my favorites!

Here’s a close up (my stamps need a bath).

I thought I was all finished, but decided to add a bit more gold trim, so I added some striped washi tape.

Here’s a close up of the washi, the flower stamps, and letter stamps.

And that’s how a gift bag turned into a bullet journal design! See the list of supplies below.
