Whenever I think of summer, I think homemade lemonade – that is lemons, water, ice, and mixed with about 6 pounds of sugar! And with summer just around the corner (as in tomorrow), I needed to showcase this week’s bullet journal layout with…lemons!

There’s that common saying – when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! But I think these metaphors are a bit more my style –

When life gives you lemons…squirt them in people’s eyes

When life gives you lemons… ask for salt and tequila

When life gives you lemons, put them in your bra! It won’t solve your problems, but the extra attention is nice…

When life gives you lemons, make lemon meringue pie, lemon bars, lemon cookies, and lemon drop shots

Cheers to the summer and cheers to lemons – for helping me transition into the summer spirit.

Here’s how I made this citrus-y filled bullet journal layout –

The bullet journal I am using for this layout is by Leuchtturm.

I started by using the neon pink pen from this gelly roll set and the most perfectly sized bullet journal ruler. The boxes are about 3″x 3″.

After the boxes were drawn out, I used my acrylic block and my Momenta lemon stamps (from Hobby Lobby) (similar stamps here and here).

Instead of using a yellow and green stamp pad, I used these brush markers and colored in the stamp.

To avoid stamping on areas I didn’t want stamped, I used posty notes. I used this technique all around the boxes to achieve the lemony results I was looking for.

After I filled the page with the lemon stamps, I wrote the word June. I used the green pen from this brush marker set, this white gel pen to add a bit of definition, and the green pen from this set to write in the dates.

I knew I wanted to include the days of the week in the empty boxes, so I used these alphabet stamps and block, I had planned on adding the dates with these stamps, but opted not to.

This is the pink ink I used for the alphabet stamps.

Last, instead of stamping Saturday and Sunday in the last box, I decided to add some calligraphy into it using the pink pen from this flexible point brush pen set.

Supplies I used:

Journal

Pens

Rubber Stamps (the lemons stamps are similar), Stamping Blocks, and Ink

Ruler
